We Two Boys Together Clinging - Art Post
Last year I signed up as an artist for the Kid!fic Big Bang and now the time has come for all the stories to be posted. I claimed two stories and this is my Art Post for the first one - We Two Boys Together Clinging by rabidchild \o/ Heee, surprise, it's not White Collar :P But I'm always happy to play in other fandoms if I have the necessary visual material :D

I read this story on the plane when I was flying back from Paris. It's so made of win \o/ It has lots of adventure, there's humor (how can there not be, LOL, it's kid!Jim and kid!Spock), oh, and there's angst, too ♥ And all of that wrapped in a mystery to be solved :D You know you want to read it. Do eeeet \o/

Aw, that's really cute! Believe it or not, I just recently came into the Star Trek fandom. Better late than never, right? Usually I am not into kidfics, but this sounds indeed interesting. I shall check it out.

Sorry for walking over, I saw the Stargate mentioning in the interest list, instead I found Spock ;)

Heee, well, when I started this journal and got into creating art, I was 100% White Collar and this has not really changed :D

But ZOMG, Stargate is my love ♥ SG-1 and SGA ♥ I'm actually thinking of grabbing the discs off my shelf and treat myself to an insane marathon, lol :D

I'm just finished with my latest SG-1 marathon and the show is still as good as it used to be. Do it!

I never considered myself a Science Fiction fan, I only started Stargate because of Richard Dean "MacGyver" Anderson... it was my first fandom with internet and fanfictions (learnt English by reading English fanfictions, I'm from Germany) and conventions and music videos and everything. Found many friends through it.

Do you know the kind of art I do? Funny picture stories with action figures. Stargate is where it all started many years ago, but now I also have Doctor Who, Torchwood, Arrow, Star Trek and Sherlock. Sadly there are no White Collar figures :( My friend and I are thinking about making a Neal Caffrey doll. If we can find a figure with the right face.

If you like to check out my Stargate stories, here is a link list: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/24280.html

I'm more an SG-1 than Atlantis girl, but the Soccer Space cup has lots of Atlantis figures as well. Enjoy!

Oh, I have seen both SG-1 and SGA a few times ♥ Was also a huge MacGyver fan, heeeee. I remember when me and my mom were watching SG-1 together and finally decided to give SGA a try. We just couldn't imagine watching Stargate without Jack and Daniel and the gang... but man, I just fell in love with that show right away :D

But I never actually participated in fandom, I'm fairly new to this whole online business and I'm mostly sticking to LJ, hee. I'm hopelessly White Collar and Matty right now, lol :P

Thank you for the link *click* :D And I'm from Szczecin, less than 2h away from Berlin, we already had a great WC European convention in Berlin, maybe you can join us if/when we organize another one :D
Antjedieastra on August 23rd, 2015 09:59 pm (UTC)
At first I did not want to watch Atlantis, as I couldn't stand the Wraith. But then they announced that McKay was going to be in it, so I HAD to watch it. I liked the earlier seasons but then something changed in the later seasons and I didn't like it that much anymore. They were not exploring planets anymore, it was only about the Wraith and the Replicators, and it became a bit repetitive and boring. And always running around on dark space ships with no light switch ;)

I understand what you mean, I also only can do one fandom at a time properly with all my time spent on it, but even though I was occoupied with Doctor Who and Torchwood, White Collar sneaked up on me ;)

Heh, I'm in Dresden, also about 2 hours away from Berlin by train! (former Eastern Germany, I actually learnt Russian in school - I'm old) I haven't heard about that con, I take it it's one of those where fans just meet and have fun, without any actors? My friend in Prague does these, they go on for a whole week with workshops and all kind of fan activities. I have never been to one.

This happened last year at Fedcon in Dusseldorf:

Aww, yeah, we just had these get togethers without any actors :D For the actors experience I made a few trips to New York and had my fair share of Matty moments :P But dang, I wish I knew the SG-1 were so close in Europe last year, I think I would have gone!!! :D
Antjedieastra on August 23rd, 2015 10:30 pm (UTC)
In the years between 2002 and 2006 I have been to lots of German Stargate conventions and seen almost everyone. Very small intimate cons, not like these huge US cons. In 2008 and 2010 I also have been to Vancouver, partly for a con and partly to see the city and all those shooting locations. It was awesome.

But dang, now I am envious for your Matty experiences ;) I've never been to New York (maybe when he does a play on Broadway - he WAS talking about doing theatre again. Let's go all together then!)

Does he do pictures? Do you have anything for showing off?

They said it was the first time with all three of them together at one con. This has never happened anywhere in the world before. When they all did a panel together, the room was so packed, that they had to put peoeple into a second room and show the panel via video screen. I'm sorry you didn't know about it. Apparently Fedcon is very international, at the opening ceremony they named all the countries people were coming from.

Shouldn't we go to bed or something? ;)

Oh, Matty does pictures no problem, he also does hugs :P And smells sooooooo good, lol. But so does Tim and Willie :D I've been meaning to do some LJ posts with a bunch of pics from 3 years but it's literally thousands of pics to sort *headdesk* There was always a bunch of us doing these trips together and in 3 years we got to meet the cast but also the wonderful crew of White Collar, we were able to visit the studio and invade Neal's apartment and Peter's house... we saw some live shooting in the studio and on the streets of NYC... and of course we went all around New York finding the most important locations, LOL.

I added you as a friend so that you can at least check out my pics from last year: http://kanarek13.livejournal.com/29266.html and there if you just use the navigation links at the top and click NEXT, there's also pics from day 3 and day 4-6 and a final small treat :D I don't have any pics posted of me and Matty yet but they will be included in my upcoming squee posts :P

I finally took the time and looked through all your pictures, they are awesome! You got really close. Must be great that they allow people so close and that apparently you all behaved well so shooting was still possible.

How does one end up in a studio though? ;) And the apartment even! Now I am really jealous. I love that apartment. I even drew the groundplan on my computer at work (it's what I do for a living), because I love it so much. And I was trying to figure out where things were. It's interesting when you look for hints, as my friend would not want to believe me that once I saw a TV set there next to the easel. I could prove it with a screenshot though.

And that table next to the entrance got moved around a lot.

Anyway, tell me anything you can about the apartment ;) Obviously, it's just a set. Yet it seems to have all four walls and they were shooting from all angles. How do they do that? Maybe the walls are moveable? And once in a while they would go down the stairs in the house, like when Neal did that dancing routine. Is that all studio as well? It looked so real.

And how does one find shooting on locations? I know there used to be a website that had them all listed, but I think after 9/11 the Americans got more careful. I know that in Cardiff, with Doctor Who or Sherlock, there are little signs to follow.

I feel a bit bad that you now have to put up with all my Star Trek action figure pictures at the moment, after having friended me ;) If you want to defriend again, that's fine. Thanks for showing me your pics.

Oh, I also read the fanfiction that started all this conversation. And I really loved it! When I said I don't like kidfic I meant when toddlers are all cute and talking weird. But this was nice, as the boys were older, and some of their real personalities were shown.

I have one - no actual two, as there is a sequel - White Collar fics, not sure if you already saw them? One of those about "what happened to Neal after the kidnapping".

If you like? http://dieastra.livejournal.com/83704.html

I will put together a folder with pics and I'll PM it to you along with a reply, hee :D

I shall say a big thank you from my friend as well! She loved it. She loved it so much that she plans a re-watch of the whole series LOL

Awesome, heee :D
Antjedieastra on September 5th, 2015 08:32 am (UTC)
So, I've just looked up Szczecin. I love how with making new friends you also learn new things. It's probably not the best thing to admit but I had no idea you were so huge! Over 760.000 citizens Wikipedia tells m? Dresden only has about 540.000 citizens. Now I feel very small LOL Even though we are also the capital of Saxony.

And you have a lot of water throughout the city, I love that. We have the river Elbe and you can walk along and have a nice day.
kanarek13kanarek13 on September 5th, 2015 07:14 pm (UTC)
Heee, yeah, and since we are only 15 clicks from the border, you'd feel very at home here because there's a constant onflow of visitors from the towns close to the border :D Sometimes you take a stroll and hear more German than Polish, heee :D

Sometimes you take a stroll and hear more German than Polish, heee :D

I bet! You can hear the same amount of German in London too, though. Which is always fun when the people think nobody understands them.

We were at the Baltic Sea a few years ago and my father wanted to go over the border but my mother didn't want to travel so far. So sadly I never have been to Poland. My brother and I want to do a day trip to Görlitz though (where they film so many Hollywood movies recently) and just walk over the bridge to Zgorzelec.

And at the Baltic Sea I met this guy who was selling pictures with himself for 1 Euro:
